The first book in the Charms series is told from the point of view of Magnolia (Maggie) Charm. She's the second oldest and her talent is related to plants and flowers, just like their mother. Of the four sisters, I would say I'm most like Maggie in terms of personality.
She's fairly chill and laidback, but responsible. She wants to be nice to everyone, but also is independent and doesn't care what anyone thinks about her. Writing about Maggie was harder than writing about Ivy. I'm not entirely sure why, but I'm sure it has something to do with trying not to put too much of myself on the pages.
Because Maggie's talent is flowers and plants, I was able to spend some of my time researching different types of plants, flowers, and herbal remedies. This has always been an interest of mine, so that was fun to do on the side. Readers' interests range far and wide, so it's fun to add in a hobby or quirk that is something fun to write about.
